A Quebecois hunter found himself having a once-in-a-lifetime encounter in October, and luckily for us, he was able to film it.  The man was crossbow hunting near St-François d'Assise when suddenly three moose walked into his field of view.  

The mother and two adolescents then approached his blind with gentle curiosity, slowly getting incredibly close to the man after they realize he's not a threat.  Though this occurred on another country, it more than recalls this similarly gentle encounter a man in Dillon, MT had under very similar circumstances. 

Getting this close to a moose is rarer than getting roughly the same distance away from deer or elk.  For one, the moose is an enormous creature, the largest from the deer family still alive on Earth.  They can grow to weigh as much as 3/4 of a ton, and male's racks can get to over 6 feet across; they are nothing if not formidable animals.  But this lovely, peaceful moment highlights a different side of the animal.  

Finally, after 7 minutes, the gentle giant and her calves walk away to see what's happening elsewhere, leaving the man to contemplate an encounter he won't soon forget.
