I have no issues with Winkler or the photo really. I am a native Montanan who has learned over the years to not only use barbless hooks for catch and release but also leaned something else. It is even more humane to try to always keep the fish under some water to take the hook out and keep it a couple inches under water to take photos. The waters are clear and this gives fish their best chance for survival, never leaving the water. The photos turn out just as great also!!
