In 1948 I was born in Missoula but raised in Glendive, MT. The Northern Pacific Railroad Yellowstone Division headquarters was in Glendive with a roundhouse and lots of employees. As kids, we would explore the countryside near the railroad tracks, my mother always warned us to not go near the sites where hobo's were. Of course, we did just the opposite, wanting to see these travelers of the rails. Never had a bad experience with these men who for the most part were just looking for jobs.
