Excellent article; very informative and accurate! It is truly lovely country and I have wandered quite a high proportion of it! Even hunted antelope on the Big Sag Ranch by Lost Lake. Once I commented on a photo of the lake on Facebook, that it was regarded as "the Dry Falls of the Missouri River" and got quite a nasty earful from a poster claiming he KNEW the area and it NEVER was called that! I knew better. Thanks for the fine story; I learned a lot and I thought I knew much of it but was pleasantly surprised. Sure is a shame the hogs ruined visiting the Lake by trashing it. he only shame is those potholes around Geraldine and Highwood are too alkaline for fish; they would grow fat on the ghost shrimp there.
