I traveled around MT while in the Air Force (72-75). There was a very large group of 20 or 30 or more crosses mounted on what appeared to be a grandstand some where between Great Falls and Lewistown that I saw quite often. They surely made me think about driving safety. At that time I believe there was no day light speed limit. In our blue trucks we were supposed to drive a maximum of 50 mph on pavement and 25 mph on gravel. I had no idea that the American Legion source of and maintainer of the crosses.
